From Ashes to Hope: Help the Mares Family Rebuild

On June 20th at 10:30 AM, an apartment building in San Antonio called Broadstone on Medical caught fire and destroyed 11 families' residences. After almost 2 hours, the fire was put out, but the building was deemed a "total loss."

My aunt, uncle, and cousin were only able to recover a few things out of the apartment before the structure was deemed unsafe to enter and the city was forced to tear down the remains of the building. My cousin also sustained an injury (non-life-threatening) while saving his dog, and we are currently unsure about the whereabouts of our beloved family cat, Lola. On top of that, countless precious and priceless memories and heirlooms have been forever lost.

This has left a devastating impact on all of us, but we are attempting to pick up the pieces and move forward with the grace of God. Although this has been a stressful time, we are keeping our heads held up high and look forward to a bright future out of this messy situation with help, love, and support from family and friends.
