My family and I unfortunately suffered a loss of our home due to a fire. We are all safe and escaped the home. Although the home is not a total loss, we are now without a home and lost most of our belongings to smoke damage. Due to my boyfriend's illness, we cannot reuse most of the items. The home was a blessing to us after we suffered homelessness before due to my boyfriend's and my health. He had one lung removed and a triple bypass, and I had fallopian tube cancer that led to many health problems. We had just settled in and started to feel at home and at peace when the fire happened.
We also share the home with my son, Chayse Lawson, who has disabilities. He is blind in his right eye and had a brain tumor removed at 11, but his mind is stuck at that age. He works and had the same job most of his life, but it recently closed its doors for good. And of course, Duke the dog, who was a rescue pit with separation anxiety, is having to stay with a family friend who has put in every effort of her own time and money to help us.
We have another home, but we need help with the previous bills, household goods, gas cards—anything will help.
