About Me
My name is Javier Hernandez, and I began my engineering career in 2008 as an apprentice engineer. After graduating in 2012, I’ve built up 17 years of hands-on experience working as a Stationary Engineer across hospitals, arenas, hotels, and commercial buildings throughout the Bay Area.
I am also a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 39, and have been part of the union my entire career. Through my work with organizations like Sutter Health, Genentech (JLL), Oracle Arena, W Hotels, ABM Industries, and GSH Group, I’ve specialized in life safety systems, HVAC, boilers, electrical troubleshooting, water treatment, and energy management.
Now, I’m ready to take the next big step: advancing my education and certifications so I can achieve my ultimate goal of becoming a Chief Engineer.
