On Friday, September 11th, the brothers of Phi Gamma Delta at the University of Iowa are coming together with our brothers at Iowa State University for a special philanthropy event honoring the lives and legacy of those affected by September 11, 2001. Taking place just one day before the annual Cy-Hawk game, this event brings together brothers from both sides of the rivalry for a cause that goes far beyond football.
The brothers of Iowa State Fiji will begin the journey in Ames, carrying a football as they run the first half of the route toward Iowa City. Once they reach the halfway point, our Iowa brothers will take over and continue the run, carrying the football all the way back to the Phi Gamma Delta house at 303 Ellis Avenue in Iowa City.
While the Cy-Hawk rivalry will bring our schools together on the football field the following day, this relay gives us an opportunity to come together for something much bigger. The run represents brotherhood, remembrance, and our shared commitment to honoring the lives of those we lost on September 11th and supporting the families who continue to live with that loss.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the Never Forget Fund, supporting the families of those who lost their lives on September 11th. We would greatly appreciate any donation, no matter the size. Your generosity means a great deal to our brothers and, most importantly, to the families and loved ones of the victims.
As we prepare for another Cy-Hawk matchup, we are proud to put the rivalry aside and come together as brothers to honor a day that brought people across the country together.
Help us run to remember. Help us honor their legacy. Never Forget.
