What was meant to be one of the happiest days of our lives turned into one of the hardest. Our mom and two younger sisters were on their way to the hospital to help welcome mom’s first grandchild and our family’s first nephew when they were involved in a serious car accident.
They never made it to meet our newest family member.
Despite being injured herself, my youngest sister jumped into action and called 911. All three were rushed from our local hospital to UC Davis Medical Center due to the severity of their injuries.
Their Injuries & Current Condition
All three sustained broken backs
- Mom was in the most critical of conditions
She has already undergone:
- Major spinal surgery
- Complex ankle reconstruction
- With more surgeries ahead
-Our sister Isa completed the first of 2 long surgeries for her foot
-Both of our sisters require custom back braces and all will need long-term medical care
Doctors have called mom’s progress a miracle, but her recovery journey, along with my sisters, will be long and challenging.
Why We Need Your Help
Our mom has been the sole provider for the household and now my dad will have to step into the caregiver role while being homebound and on long term disability himself. He is now the primary caregiver for all three while they heal. To safely bring them home and support recovery, we must make essential medical and accessibility improvements, including:
- A home entry ramp
- Adaptive medical equipment
- Ongoing rehabilitation costs
- Travel and daily care expenses
These are costs far beyond what our family can manage alone. All donations will directly support their healing and help us bring them back home to comfort, safety, and care.
If you can’t give financially, please help by sharing this link and keeping our family in your prayers. Every act of kindness means the world to us.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for showing up for our family during this unimaginable time. Your support brings us hope and strength as we focus on helping our mom and sisters recover.
Thank you,
The Leon Family
