A Life In Flux: Summary

I’ve spent my life creating music, connecting communities, and helping others find their rhythm. For years, I was the one behind the lights, the soundboard, and the mic...building the "magic" for everyone else. I never imagined I’d be the one sitting on the other side of the stage, asking for a hand to hold. But life has a way of quietening down right before the storm breaks, and for my partner Amanda and me, that storm has been relentless.

The Reality of the Fight: After years of hustling, touring, and finding our footing, we were finally building a stable life. Then, everything collapsed. It started with a nightmare of uncertainty when Amanda fell ill...a long, dark season of battling health struggles that pushed us both to the brink. We fought through it, hand in hand, and just as we felt we were finding our balance again, my own world shattered. What began as a dental infection spiraled into a life-threatening crisis... multifocal bacterial pneumonia, COPD exacerbation, and acute hypoxic respiratory failure. I went from a professional musician to a man tethered to an oxygen tank just to walk to the kitchen. My lungs, once the source of my life’s work, are now the center of a daily battle for breath.

The Double-Whammy: Just as I began my long, uncertain recovery, Amanda was hit again. Sudden, debilitating stomach issues led to a diagnosis of gallstones. She now faces surgery to have her gallbladder removed, forcing her out of work for the second time in a year.

Why We’re Reaching Out: We are currently facing the crushing reality of thousands of dollars in medical copays...and the mounting weight of daily living expenses while neither of us can work. I’m facing a pulmonologist consultation in August that will help define my future, but for now, the path forward is clouded by the looming shadow of disability. We aren't trying to "get back to where we were"...that version of us is in the rearview mirror. We are simply trying to navigate this storm so we can focus on the only thing that matters right now...healing.

How You Can Help: We are not asking for a handout. We are asking for a bridge. If you’ve ever found comfort in the music, attended a show, or believe in the power of a community stepping up when the lights go out, we need you now. Your support isn't just paying a bill...it’s giving us the time we need to breathe, to recover, and to eventually find our rhythm again. Pride is a heavy thing to carry, and today, I’m setting it down. We are fighting to stay in the game, and with your help, we know we can make it to the next track.

*Footnote: For those who want to know the full back story and everything that has transpired leading us to reach out, I will share the complete story...each of the 5 Acts...in individual posts to this fundraiser.*
