A Humble Request During a Major Life Transition
I'm not someone who's comfortable asking for help—I’ve always done everything I could to provide for myself. But right now, my financial situation is extremely challenging. Each month, I stretch every dollar to cover the basics, and sometimes I fall short. Still, God always seems to make a way, and I’m grateful for that.
This request is different.
Over the past year, I’ve lost 370 lbs. Yes, you read that right. It’s been a life-changing transformation—physically, mentally, and emotionally. I’m just 75 lbs away from reaching my ultimate goal. This journey has taught me discipline, resilience, and how strong the human spirit can be when determined.
However, with this incredible weight loss has come a new struggle: clothing. None of my clothes fit. My shirts are way too big and hang awkwardly. My pants and shorts are all held together by gym ropes pulled to the max—and even then, they slip. I don’t have anything close to business or business casual attire that would help me present myself professionally for job interviews or opportunities.
This isn’t about vanity. This is about getting back to work. If I can secure a job, I can move beyond these monthly financial burdens. That’s why this moment feels like that old proverb:
“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”
I could ask for help with bills, but that would be temporary relief. What I truly need is the opportunity to move forward—for good. A fresh set of clothes, properly fitting shoes, and a work-ready appearance will help me reclaim my place in the workforce and begin the next chapter of my life.
If you're in a position to help with any size donation, it would mean the world to me—and I promise, it will be noticed, appreciated, and paid forward.
Thank you for reading, for your support, and for believing in this journey.
With gratitude,
Christopher Turner
