From 15 Percent to a Miracle: Help Monica’s Recovery Journey

Donation protected
With grateful hearts and unwavering faith, we are sharing the journey of our beloved Claudette “Monica” Smith — a woman whose strength, kindness, and joy have touched everyone she meets.

Today, we urgently need your help.

Monica, a 68-year-old widowed mother of two, Rico and Tonia, has just received the gift of life — a heart transplant. While this miracle is a blessing beyond words, it comes with overwhelming financial challenges that cannot wait.

After years of battling congestive heart failure, hypertension, a stroke, heart attack, and multiple procedures, Monica faced a critical turning point on March 5, 2026. Her heart was functioning at just 15%. Within days, she was transferred to Emory Hospital and placed on the transplant list.

Then, by the grace of God, everything changed.

On March 31st, she received the call — a heart was available. That same night, she underwent surgery, and by the next morning, her new heart was beating on its own.

“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you.” – Ezekiel 36:26

While we celebrate this miracle, the reality is that her recovery journey is just beginning — and it is costly.

We are working to raise $15,000 as quickly as possible to cover:
  • Immediate out-of-pocket medical expenses
  • High-cost, life-saving medications
  • New year insurance deductible
  • Ongoing post-transplant care and rehabilitation

These expenses are urgent and essential to ensure her body accepts this new heart and she can continue healing.

Monica has always been a woman of faith, a devoted member of Turner Chapel AME Church since 1999, and someone who gives love freely to everyone she meets. Now, she needs that same love and support in return.

No amount is too small. Every dollar makes a difference right now.

If you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this page with your friends, family, church, and community. Your support — whether financial, through prayer, or by spreading the word — truly matters.

“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and He helps me.” – Psalm 28:7

Let’s come together to lift Monica up during this critical time so she can focus on healing and embracing this second chance at life.

Thank you for being part of her miracle. ❤️
