2026. New year, so time for a new fundraiser. Here's hoping somehow things get better this year... will you be the angel that saves my life?

I got COVID in February 2020. I never fully recovered. I'm still sick, I've lost everything, and my government seems hell-bent on killing me and millions of others in a quest to sweep our plight under the rug of history. I just want to live. Your donation today will help me do so.

I've been ill for nearly six years now, and there's still no approved treatments and still no government assistance. Our President has cut funding for what little research was being done before he took office; our Congress has taken away my access to healthcare; our Public Health agencies have entirely and repeatedly shirked their duty to address the ever-growing crisis. I need help, friends.

I have several medical conditions caused by SARS-CoV-2, including neurocognitive impairments, immune deficiency, GI issues, dysautonomia, vitamin deficiencies, and more. With limited funding for medical testing, there's likely lots of stuff that's been missed. And while there is no treatment for Long COVID overall, many of these secondary issues can be addressed when they are identified. Testing & monitoring is crucial to managing complex health conditions, but I can't afford it.

I try to work doing odd jobs for individuals and businesses around me when I'm able, or the occasional writing or editing gig online. And I refuse to paywall my own writing on health & science topics because I know how vital this information is to so many people. It's not enough, though, and I have no other income.

My expenses have been cut as far as possible. I literally live in a makeshift cabin made of tarps, I usually eat only one meal a day (and not always that), I can't even remember when I last did laundry aside from hand washing in a bucket of rainwater. My phone is literally the only 'device' I have, and it's critical for coordinating my care, accessing transportation and necessities, and paid writing - as well as being a lifeline to communicate with my emotional support networks.

But, the cost of living is skyrocketing. And I need several prescription and OTC medications to attempt to manage my health conditions. It's expensive to be unhoused because advertised sales, bulk purchases, etc., are often out of my budget entirely or entirely impossible to take advantage of due to storage requirements.

I don't even know what else to write here because I've tried everything - short and to the point or long-winded with details and receipts, smaller goals for monthly needs or larger long-term requests, and no matter what, I always end up in the negative before the end of the month. That, of course, just makes the amount I need the following month even greater, and the hole just gets deeper.
