Froggy Man Will - Cord Blood Infusion

As you may have read on Will’s CaringBridge site , John and Jessica have been pursuing a cord blood infusion for him ever since they learned that he and Finley were a match. To refresh your memory, a team of researchers at Duke University in North Carolina have been studying the effects of cord blood infusions for children with cerebral palsy. This is Will’s primary diagnosis as a result of his head trauma, and it basically just means brain damage at a young age. Specifically, these researchers have found that children who receive the infusion have statistically significant gross motor improvements (e.g. crawling, walking, etc.). After a lengthy process to ensure that the boys were a match, collecting and storing the cord blood from Finley’s delivery, several large piles of paperwork (including Will’s entire medical record), bloodwork, cheek swabs, physical exams, doctor reviews, and approximately a gazillion phone calls and emails, William was approved to have the procedure. 

Surgery dates have been set for March 29-April 1. The catch? It costs $15,000. And they have to fly to Duke and stay there for three nights.
