COVID has affected all of us in many ways and that is especially true for the Spooner family. Fritz was admitted to BMC on February 1st. He remained on a ventilator for almost three weeks. When he was attempting to wean off of it, it was discovered that he had a series of small strokes while sedated. These strokes have caused a very long road to recovery. Fritz worked extremely hard in the BMC physical therapy program. After 63 days in BMC, he was transferred to the PT program at Williamstown Commons where he remained until today (5/14). Thankfully with his hard work, he is able to come home but there is still a long road ahead. The family is eternally grateful to the staffs at BMC & Williamstown Commons and the team of doctors, nurses and PT professionals who saved his life and have gotten him back home.
Over all of this time, the medical bills have accumulated. The Spooners are proud and private people and are reluctant to ask for help. Any assistance that you can provide during this time is greatly appreciated.
