Frisbees for Mental Health
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Iven. I am a visual artist, musician and counsellor. My frisbees have been part of the artist merchandise I am selling. I am fundraising money to give out free Frisbees to my community, which often struggles to meet their needs in Canada's second most expensive city - Vancouver.
GOAL: I aim to raise $180 to give away six frisbees to children who enjoy playing.
I have volunteered since I live here ( 6+ years) to introduce my favorite outdoor activity FRISBEE. My idea is to introduce this great activity to many community members. I volunteer to teach frisbee at Edmonds park, and you can donate anything you can afford, which will be used to give out a Frisbee to a child in the park.
Each frisbee is $30. Whenever $30 is reached, I give out a frisbee to someone I played with.
I will write the donor's name on each frisbee - if they're not anonymous donors:
This frisbee will connect the people in this community. The one designs stand for good mental health, inclusion and community. When you throw for “world peace,” you throw to heal, connect, play, and have fun.
When I give a frisbee to someone, I also give it to his friends and family. One frisbee can entertain many people in the park. Frisbee is also a sport that a lot of girls like to play, which is essential since soccer still rules the field, and not all girls and boys like to play soccer.
Play can transform emotional pain and stress, boost your mental health, and foster positive change and confidence after a challenging day. The community members I engage with come from diverse backgrounds and often are newcomers to Canada. This means there is a language barrier that I like to overcome through play.
I will choose six candidates I think would take this gift of yours and bring it back to their community by including others and letting others play with them. If I raise more money, I will give out more frisbees.
Thank you,
kindly Iven
