Frios-Tulsa Stolen Concession Trailer
Donation protected
I was born and raised in Tulsa, left for a few years, and returned in 2004 to care for my mother. I spent many years on Greenwood while growing up in Tulsa, so when I decided to purchase a Frios Gourmet Pops franchise, I opened it in the Historic Greenwood District and have been in business a little over 2 years. I opened Frios in order to provide a healthy ‘sweet treat’ option. Frios Gourmet Pops are made with fresh ingredients -- variety of gluten-free, dairy-free, and dye-free flavors are available. A part of my business also includes donating Frios pops to various fundraising events as a way of giving back to my community.
In April of this year, I was fortunate enough to purchase a 6 x 12 foot enclosed trailer from a Frios franchise owner who was leaving the business. The trailer was already wrapped with the Frios logo info on the outside. It was wired for electricity, contained an air conditioning unit, two freezers, a Square POS system, a flat screen TV, and an A-Frame chalkboard sign that I used to display my flavors at events. The only other purchase that I made was an Apple iPad in order to use the POS system.
On the evening of Sunday, December 8, 2019, someone stole this trailer out of my driveway. In addition to the above contents, I had approximately 15 cases (48 pops per case) of Frios pops stored in the stolen trailer. I was not at home at the time and saw that it had been taken upon my return – a devastating and heartbreaking discovery!!
Although the trailer was insured, any payment made by the insurance company will not be enough to replace the trailer, its contents, and the Frios wrap. I need to have a trailer so that I can participate in festivals and other outside events that will begin as early as March 2020; significant financial resources for my business.
In this season of giving, it is disheartening to know that someone would take what is not theirs with blatant disregard for the financial stress and strain caused by their actions.
Will each of you please partner with me and help me raise $8,000 toward the replacement of my trailer and its contents? I am truly grateful and thank you for any donations received!
