Thank You for visiting the Frinton Summer Theatre fundraising page We hope you will help us secure the future of the UK’s longest-running summer repertory theatre. Frinton Summer Theatre has been a springboard for actors’ careers and an important contributor to both the cultural life and the local economy on the east coast of England for over 80 years.
After two years of living through the pandemic, both are in urgent need of regeneration. With your support, Frinton Summer Theatre will play a key role in this. Every year, the Theatre dedicates over £170,000 in order to run a summer season of 6 to 7 week-long shows in the McGrigor Hall.
After the success of our full-scale musical Jesus Christ Superstar and our community outreach activities in the Greenward Tent in 2022, we are hoping to return once again in 2023 with another musical spectacular. For an annual budget of £200,000, the tent allows us to bring professional productions of musicals known from the West End and Broadway to Frinton.
Alongside our season of performances, we are aiming to increase our important community work with a new learning and outreach programme and writing competition.
Frinton Summer Theatre is a charity and non- profit organisation that relies on ticket sales, public and private funding to cover its costs. On average our ticket sales only account for 68% of our budgeted costs each year. It is therefore essential that we secure additional funds, in order to maintain this wonderful an unique historically important theatre for Tendring community.
