Help Frieth Cricket Club – Investing in the Future of Community Cricket

For decades, our cricket club has been more than just a place to play. It has been a second home. A gathering place. A source of pride for players, families, and supporters across generations.

Last season marked one of the greatest achievements in our history — both our First XI and Second XI were crowned champions in their respective leagues. It was a moment that celebrated years of dedication, teamwork, and community spirit.

But today, despite our success on the field, our future is under serious threat.

What We Urgently Need:

Our facilities have fallen into severe disrepair. To continue competing and serving our community, we urgently need funding for:

• A new practice net with AstroTurf to allow safe, year-round training

• Showers to meet our league requirements

• Umpire’s room

• A dedicated female changing room to support the growth of women and girls cricket

• Refurbishment of our pavilion, which is currently in a terrible state

• Support with running costs including utilities and grounds maintenance whilst the project is being completed

Why This Matters:

Without installing proper shower facilities, we do not meet our league criteria. If we cannot comply, we may be forced to withdraw from competition — which could ultimately mean folding the club entirely.

Without refurbishing the pavilion, the heart of our club — a building that has stood for decades — will continue to deteriorate beyond repair.

If that happens:

• Nearly 30 players across two senior teams will lose their place to play.

• Young cricketers will lose a pathway into senior cricket.

• Our local community will lose a historic sporting institution.

• A club that has proudly represented this area for generations could disappear.
