October update:
Can we get an “Aho!”
Friendship House recently received an anonymous donation of over $25,000 dollars for our Women’s Housing initiative after the donor heard about our campaign.
You read that right -- one donation for over $25,0000 dollars! Our goal is to put American Indian families struggling with substance abuse back together – and that means making sure that Native mothers seeking sobriety can get into a program that can provide supportive and safe housing for their children.
Your generous donation will go a long way in helping us realize our goal. As our founder Helen Waukazoo often says, “One person getting sober can heal an entire family.”
Thank You!
And a special shout out to Senator Mark Leno:
Senator Leno, we are so grateful for your friendship and support over the years. We feel honored to that you have joined our Advisory Board, and we look forward to our work ahead. Thank you for your kind generosity!
If you're just joining us, thank you!
Here is our story:
A group of American Indians in San Francisco came together 55 years ago to build Friendship House Association of American Indians to assist, heal, and empower members of their community struggling with homelessness, unemployment, incarceration, teen suicide, and substance abuse.
Today we are still in San Francisco, still in the Mission District, and still fulfilling our original mission and more.
Now it’s time to help Native women and their children by building safe and affordable housing – but we can’t do it without you.
Please consider making a contribution of any size to The Friendship House Association of American Indians. Funds raised by this campaign will go towards our new Native Women & Children’s housing initiative.
We believe we are all related and responsible for the well-being of all life, including one each other. Please help us heal and restore our families and consider making a donation. No amount is too small.
Thank you for your support.
