Friends of Plumas County Animals - No Kill Shelter
Tax deductible
Like many of us this year, 2020 has been hard on the animals and volunteers at Friends of Plumas County Animals. Friends is a non-profit, no-kill cat and dog shelter located in Quincy, Ca. staffed by unpaid locals.
As if the pandemic wasn't enough, Friends was forced to evacuate from the Clairmont Fire on August 20th, only to find more displaced animals in need of shelter upon their return. They soon found out however that they would have to leave their home of 8 years again... only this time permanently.
At the beginning of November, abruptly and without notice, Friends was informed by their landlord that they had vacate the premises in 30 days, stating other other plans for the building. This came as a shock to Friends, who at their own expense had just put in $4,000 worth of new flooring. The flooring was only the latest expense in addition to over $10,000 of other renovations and repairs that Friends had paid out of pocket over the years. Negotiations with the landlord resulted in a 90 day notice to move.
Currently Friends is looking for a new location, which are limited in this small Northern California town. They are seeking funds to help covering the expenses of obtaining a new location, the moving, renovation and other operational costs. The initial goal is $10,000 and any amount will be greatly appreciated.
If your pets have given you solace over this years quarantines, please consider helping their "Friends" with a tax deductible donation. Thank you.
