Our mission is to raise funds, awareness and general social support for Paul Alminde as he fights a chronic and degenerative central nervous system disease. We will provide assistance directly to the Alminde Family to aid with in-home mobility, transportation, health care and broader needs in the near and long term.
Paul Alminde was a Philadelphia Police Homicide Detective who was forced to retire due to a debilitating central nervous system disease. Paul started patrol in the 26th Police District in 1989. He made Detective in 1997 and was assigned to East Detective Division. He was transferred to the Homicide Unit in 2017. Paul did not take a single sick day in 30 years on the job. He is an alum of Northeast Catholic High School and a truly committed family man.
Claire Ondrejka Alminde is an Oncology Nurse Manager at St. Christopher's Hospital in Philadelphia, where she has worked for 31 years. She has dedicated much of her life to the care and well being of children as well as serving the broader community. She is a past president of the Winchester Swim Club and St. Jerome's Home & School. There isn't a person in need or cause in Northeast Philadelphia that Claire wouldn't be first in line to support. Claire is a Little Flower High School, Frankford School of Nursing, Penn State and Drexel Alum. She is Philly to the core and Family First, Family Always!
Paul & Claire raised three outstanding kids at their Dewees St home. Chris (29) is a Father Judge High School and Temple University Alum who works as a Financial Analyst at I-Pipeline. Caire Ann (26) is a St. Hubert High School and Penn State Alum who works as an R.N. at St. Christopher's Hospital. Patrick (24) is a Father Judge Alum who is serving our country in the U.S. Air Force.
Paul and Claire have always been there for others. Whether you know them, are connected to one of their constituent communities or are touched by their story we are grateful for your generous support. All donations matter. We have applied for and received 501c3 status and will soon have a designation letter we can provide.
Our immediate short term goals are a handicapped bathroom renovation and transport van. Thank you!!

We have applied for and will receive a 501 c3 tax designation from the IRS. CPA Kevin Hughes is contracted as the organization’s accountant. A checking account was established at Republic Bank. Funds will be transferred to the Republic Checking Account and then paid directly to contractors and service providers upon a recorded vote by the Board of Directors. The immediate expenses surround the installation of a fully integrated handicapped bathroom in the Alminde home and the subsequent purchase of a handicapped transport van.
