Friends and fans of Patty’s Mexican Restaurant (especially those is the Moscow-Pullman area)!

Gerardo and Patty have been a prominent feature in the Moscow-Pullman community seventeen years. Those who frequent Patty’s Mexican Kitchen appreciate their hard work and commitment to bringing great Mexican food to this area. Those who know Gerardo and Patty see the love for family and know how hard they work to balance time with their children and still meet the demanding tasks of running a restaurant and maintaining a weekly presence at the Farmer’s Market. And over the years, they have donated both food and services to many great causes and organizations.
What many of you may not know is the serious health issues of their son Aëden; the family has struggled with these for the past five years. As a young child, Aëden was life-flighted to Spokane following a respiratory failure episode. He was resuscitated three times and ended up in a coma for a month. Aëden now lives with a trachea tube and sleeps with a CPAP. In the five years since his respiratory failure, Aëden has endured extensive medical evaluation and care. Gerardo and Patty have taken Aëden to regular appointments with endocrinologists and pulmonologists in Spokane and Seattle. Aëden meets regularly with a counselor as well as physical therapy and eye therapy. Through all of this, the family has accrued extensive medical and travel expenses. Being small business owners, the family is uninsured; Patty and Gerardo sold their Moscow house to settle the past medical debt. Aëden is now on Medicaid but those funds are not enough. The family is once again heading to Seattle December third to see the endocrinologist. On top of this, Patty, Gerardo, Aëden and youngest son Ian will soon be heading to Chicago Children’s Hospital for further workup specific to a rare cardio-pulmonary condition for which testing can only be done at the Chicago facility. The trip will accrue additional travel and medical expenses, but having this answer will help them to better understand Aëden’s needs.
We are establishing a GoFundMe campaign to help support Gerardo, Patty, Aëden and Ian. They have given to this community in so many ways - it is time to give back. It takes a village to raise a child…we have always been proud of the Moscow/Pullman community and how they help those in their village. Please give what you can; even the cost of a taco dinner or a pitcher of margaritas will help! We will match donations up to $5000. So let’s get started…And don’t forget to share this with friends on and off Facebook and through other social media!
