Friends of Jen, we need your help, stat!
Donation protected
What makes Jen an incredible friend? She’s a little bit of everything. She’s equal parts funny meme provider, reliable confidant, and one more round of drinks by the fire pit. Her all-are-welcome holiday parties are like warm winter hugs. She loves our kids and pets (almost) as much as her own. No matter what, Jen always brings her unrelenting positive and comforting presence.
Lately, the universe has failed to return the favor. Jen was diagnosed with stage IV non-small cell lung cancer on March 29, 2023. It has spread throughout her body, including to her bones, lymph nodes, and brain. Her prognosis, with treatment, is 1-2 years survival.
Like many cancer cases, bad luck has a way of multiplying. As Jen charges headfirst into her treatment regimen, the side effects of the medicines causes her to miss work unpaid. The slate of bills makes it impossible for Jen and her husband, Karl, to take cancer on with full focus while providing for their sons, Vaughn (22) and Chase (15). Even with insurance, the costs are incredibly high.
We’re collecting donations to help the Woodeshicks beat cancer’s ass. Their family deserves the chance to put all their energy toward winning this battle. Funds will go toward medical expenses, prescriptions, and to provide extra support if Jen were to go on disability.
Our girl has more graduations to attend, races to run, parties to throw, and chili cook-offs to win. If you know her, you know she’d be the first to take out her hoops and fight by your side—she is a Delco girl, after all! If you don’t know Jen, please donate in the spirit of the friends that truly make the world a better place.
It’s going to take a community of loved ones to do this, but we know you’re out there. Let’s show the Woodeshicks what we can do.
