Friends of Jaclyn and Jose Montaño Foundations!

26.2! Please support me in raising funds for the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation and the Jose Montaño Foundation — organizations that mean a lot to me and the kids they support.
I was lucky enough to become team members with two young boys, Aiden and Jose, who taught me a lot about gratitude and perseverance. I hope I can continue to support the organizations on an ongoing basis as they had a significant impact on me. These funds will be used to support the following causes:
1. Jose Montaño Foundation - the first half will be used to purchase snack bags and toys for JMF’s monthly visits with kids in 14 hospitals in Southern CA. The foundation visits up to 1,000 kids battling cancer in both in-patient and out-patient units per month — a tradition of giving Jose started during his time at Rady Childen’s Hospital.
2. Friends of Jaclyn Foundation - the second half will be used to support FOJ in their mission to improve the quality of life for kids battling pediatric cancer. The funds will be used to support FOJ’s adoption program which pairs kids with collegiate and high school sports teams (Jose and Aiden were adopted by teams I was lucky enough to play for).
In preparation for the marathon and fundraise, I called the founders of FOJ and JMF. We began to discuss potential opportunities to support their respective missions; however, our conversation kept returning to the kids I have been lucky enough to meet over the last several years.
We spoke about the kids’ “unconquerable smiles” - a resiliency in the face of adversity, an ability to smile even in the most acute instances of pain and a capacity to give without consideration of personal circumstances.
What excuses can we make not to smile?

"Our mission is to improve the quality of life for children battling pediatric brain tumors and other childhood cancers and to raise awareness through their Adopt-A-Child, Safe on the Sidelines and Guardian Angel Programs. We do this by pairing the afflicted child and their siblings with local high school and college sports teams, campus clubs, and arts programs in their community."
*In order to distribute the raised funds to multiple organizations and expedite the fundraising process, I chose to use one link on GoFundMe. The funds will be distributed to me and re-distributed to the partner organizations. In order to provide you confidence in your donation, I am going to deliver the following assurances (the contributions will not be tax deductible and I will also not be taking any deductions):
