January 8,2019, our incredible friend Holly Shutler, age 54, lost her year-long battle with cancer....

Holly was a shining, vibrant light, and never met a stranger. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister, and a friend to all. Holly was a mentor, and had strength and love beyond words.
Holly has many friends who loved her from her days working for The Limited, Inc., Columbia Sportswear Company, and Wonderful Foods. She was the Director of Athletics for the Alma Highland Festival, where she got to boss around big guys in kilts.
So over a year ago, dressed in something purple, Holly put on stylish boots and/or a hat and went to infusion rooms and appointments with a sense of humor and an infectious smile.
In the year with cancer, she continued in her selfless manner, and didn't want anyone beyond herself to be affected by this cancer. She asked for nothing, and treated the cancer with kindness. She took it to work with her, it went to Colum's soccer games, it cheered on MSU and went for walks in the neighborhood with Potter, her Jack Russel Terrier. She never spoke negatively about the cancer and woke up each day ready for another adventure with her family, and with her cancer.
In her passing, what Holly would want most would be for Tom and Colum to not be financially burdened and to move forward with the life they shared together as a family.
We, the Friends of Holly Shutler, are raising funds to help her husband with the outstanding medical and day to day bills. No donation is too small, and any gesture is appreciated tremendously.
