Our friend Gary has always been someone who could make you laugh with his quick wit and funny impressions. He is the most kindhearted, fun-loving, giving person that we know. He has three beautiful children, one granddaughter and a second grandchild on the way. When we found out this year that he had been diagnosed with ALS, the only thing left to do was to find any way that we could help him and his family.
ALS is a devastating disease that slowly takes away all use of your muscles, paralyzing you, including the muscles that allow you to breathe and swallow.
As of now, there is no cure.
The hardest part is knowing that it leaves your mind intact, so you are fully aware of what the disease is doing to you. Despite all this, our friend Gary has been upbeat, never wanting to worry anyone about him.
We will be the voice for our friend.
If you are reading this, you know Gary, or know someone who does. The money that we collect will be 100 percent used to cover all costs to give Gary the things he will need to battle this devastating disease.
• therapy
• power wheelchair
• manual lift
• speech-generating device
• BiPAP machine
• cough assist machine
• standard hospital bed
• nutrition and feeding tubes
• in home care
• getting to and from doctors’ appointments
You can imagine how quickly costs add up. We want our friend to be able to spend his time with his family without having to feel that he is a burden to anyone.
The team would like to thank you for all your help and prayers.
