Hello everyone,  This is a fund raiser to help Greg's son pay for his funeral expenses.  Damien is 19 years old and as Greg's closet relative, is held legally responsible for his father's burial costs.  Although, our family is helping as much as we can, this is something that we just weren't expecting.  The sudden loss of a loved one is never expected, but when that person is barely in his 40's, with a teenaged son and so much life still to live, it makes it that much harder.  Greg's sister Elizabeth has a lot on her plate and the loss of her brother, has hit her very hard, as one can imagine.   Greg and Liz, were very close and the typical brother/sister team.  They spent their High School days at San Lorenzo Valley High School, where Greg participated with the Football team.  He lived for Football and being a part of a team back in those days.   The profile picture is of Greg when, as an adult he was a part of the Santa Cruz Gladiators.  He was so proud when he got on the team.  He loved Santa Cruz and living here.  The redwoods, the river, the Boardwalk, so it is only fitting that he would pass away under his beloved redwoods in the mountains.  We are trying to raise funds for the costs required to cover basic costs, such as cremation, internment, state fees and taxes.  Greg will be interned with his Grandfather, Albert Forbes and his Great Grandmother Lena Forbes, both of whom loved him so very much.  We need to raise these funds ASAP,. I am his Aunt and have been asked to handle  arrangements, as well, as allocate the needed funds as they come in   Any funds left over, if that happens, will go into a trust for Greg's son.  There is no insurance policy, no savings.  The basic costs at this point are approximately $4500.00, the extra I'm trying to raise is for any unforeseen expenses.  We will hold a Memorial Celebration of Life at the end of May .  Information for that will be sent out at a later time.
