Save Boyer’s Orchard
Donation protected

Help us save Boyer’s Orchard & Greenhouse! Started by retired photographer Bob Boyer in the 1990’s, the orchard became his passion project. Bob planted and grafted hundreds of fruit trees including apples, cherries, apricots, pears, nectarines, peaches, and more. He experimented with varieties to find new fruits that could be grown in the challenging environment of the north. Sadly, Bob passed away in 2014. His wife Marianne did her best to continue Bob’s legacy. However, after her passing in January 2021, the property is now at risk of being sold as a commercial lot. The Friends of Boyer’s Orchard formed in 2022 to care for the trees, educate the community, and provide a local organic source of food security. The orchard has provided classes and workshops, public events, and a valued oasis of green in the heart of loud and traffic-congested city. But to continue our mission, and build on all the efforts of Bob and our volunteers we need your help to save this property. It will cost us $580,000 to buy the property and manage it as community educational orchard. As a 501 (c) 3 non-profit your donations are tax-deductible.
