Last December, I celebrated my 60th birthday, but not quite as planned. A cancer diagnosis in September and surgery just before Christmas changed everything.
As I recovered, I kept thinking about how fortunate I’d been and how I could give something back.
This September, I’ll be running the Copenhagen Half Marathon in support of the SURE Appeal, led by Friends of ANCHOR. The Appeal is raising funds to create a dedicated urology unit at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, one that will allow patients to receive quicker diagnoses and more streamlined care, all in one place.
Friends of ANCHOR works alongside the NHS to support cancer and haematology patients across the North-east, providing fully funded wellbeing services, investing in advanced equipment, and helping to improve diagnosis and treatment.
I’d be truly grateful for your support. Your donation helps bring this much needed facility to life.
