Friends Helping Keith Fight the Fight!

On May 21st retired Oswego Police Officer & Yorkville native, Keith Wilson, unexpectedly experienced an emergency health situation. A visit to the Emergency Room for a headache turned into many days in the Intensive Care Unit at Copley.

With his wife Rachael, and family by his side, we learned Keith has stage IV Esophageal Cancer that has spread to his liver and brain. He will undergo radiation and an aggressive chemotherapy regiment. Keith is now faced with a tough battle ahead, but he is determined to fight!

We are truly humbled and grateful for all the prayers, calls/texts, words of encouragement and support for Keith and his family, as he begins to take on this battle. Keith will have 3 sessions of radiation for his brain and then 4 treatments of chemo (1 treatment a week every other week). Anything after that will be determined in accordance with his body’s response.  

As a lifelong Kendall County resident and Oswego police officer for over 20 years, Keith has touched the lives of many. Everyone who has crossed his path most likely has some type of story to tell. Keith is a person who just loves life, is an incredible friend to many, and his 6-year-old daughter Aubrey is his most cherished thing in the world.

With Keith being such an independent and hardworking individual his whole life, it was a process to convince him that it is OK to let others help when life takes an unexpected turn. This fund has been created to help alleviate the financial burden, as Keith is unable to work due to this diagnosis, and the medical bills are already starting to add up.
