Matthew, 34, was a happy, healthy Son, Husband and Dad-to-be at Christmas 2019. He thought he hurt his back carrying gifts. But by February, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic cancer. The tumors on his spine and ribs had grown big enough to crack a vertebrae. A week later, on February 20th, his daughter Camilla was born.
Matthew desperately wants to fight this battle and be there to see his baby girl grow up. He has endured one round of Chemo, but it didn't work. He has what the cancer world calls "Cancer of Unknown Primary" which is very difficult to treat because it's origin cannot be located. In September, a growth on his spine paralyzed him from the waist down...BUT HE DOES NOT GIVE UP! He has started a different chemo and due to his condition and COVID, his wife Shannon has taken a leave from working to become his primary caregiver as well as full time Mommy to Camilla.
