Lynda, Robin, and Ann Marie have come together along with Dianne’s sons, to support
our soul sister, mother and dear friend, Dianne. For over 45 years, we have shared a
deep bond of love and admiration for Dianne, who has been our teacher, surrogate
mother, holistic health practitioner, business partner, and passionate advocate for the
power of community. In January 2019, Dianne (then 77) moved from Ojai, California, to
Ajijic, Mexico with the love of her life, Lucy her labradoodle, to join a conscious aging
expat community. Early on, she faced mobility challenges due to the cobblestone roads
and previous foot surgeries, but her spirit remained strong.
In January 2022, after celebrating her 80th birthday and Christmas with her sons and
family in Grass Valley, Dianne moved to a smaller community in Mexico. Over time, she
was diagnosed with dengue fever, COVID, developed severe leg swelling and ulcers
that would not heal. She was on a thin thread of life. Complications from medications
led to confusion and a traumatic ER visit, followed by a fall and emergency hip surgery.
Dianne has little memory of this ordeal, and her recovery in rehab was marked by
inadequate care, over medication, language barriers, and emotional trauma. Dianne
suffered from severe PTSD, was separated from Lucy, and struggled to feel safe. With
the help of her son Kris and friends, Dianne returned to the US in January 2024, where
she received 24/7 care and therapy, gradually regaining her strength, balance and
ability to walk.
Dianne and Lucy moved into Eskaton Village assisted living in July 2024, but the
financial toll of her healing journey, combined with a bank account hack in Mexico, has
depleted her savings and put her in very, very vulnerable position. Dianne had a
substantial savings and gave her financial information to someone she trusted in
Mexico, sadly, her funds disappeared.
Dianne has overcome incredible hardship with amazing resilience and grace, She has
progressed substantially since arriving at Eskaton from needing care givers 24/7 to just
minimal support.
In late January 2026, Dianne faced the heartbreaking loss of Lucy, her beloved
companion causing deep grief. In an effort to halt an eviction from her current home we
are seeking funds that will allow Dianne to continue living in Grass Valley near her sons with
the care and community she now has. Funds raised will help cover assisted living
expenses, medical bills, mental health and physical therapy, and support Dianne’s goal
to regain her independence and mobility.
Dianne has always been a courageous warrior goddess, spreading joy and loving kindness
wherever she goes. If you have been touched by her spirit, PLEASE contribute to help
Dianne enjoy a Vibrant, Vital final chapter of her earth walk. All donations of any amount
are gratefully appreciated. With much love and gratitude
