Our sweet Frida was feeling out of sorts, quite lethargic. We took her to the animal hospital yesterday. They diagnosed her with IMHA- stands for Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia. It's a serious condition where the body's immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys its own red blood cells. She has had a blood transfusion and IV fluids and been given prednisone. She needed scans of her abdomen and heart. Already her medical bill is over $10,000. She is only four years old and we love her with all our hearts. Our only option was to pay or they would euthanize her. We would never choose that! We are told that if she survives that she will need at least one more blood transfusion and she will need to be on meds and have frequent red blood cell count tests the rest of her life. We have medical insurance for her but it only covers $3,000 per year. We want to do everything we can for our girl. Please consider helping to make this possible.
