Help Save Freya: From Feral to Family

We’re asking for your help to save a soul who’s touched our hearts in ways words can hardly express. Freya a dog who’s endured a life of fear, abandonment, and survival. But despite it all, there’s a gentle spirit inside her just waiting for a chance to trust, to heal, and to finally be loved.

Meet Freya.
She spent over two years surviving on the streets — skittish, terrified, and completely failed by humans. During the months we fed her, she would flinch at every hand movement, never letting anyone get close. Freya never knew love, comfort, or what it felt like to be safe.

Then one day, she became pregnant. Freya gave birth next to a taco stand, digging a deep hole to protect her babies. She guarded that hole fiercely and wouldn’t let anyone near. We knew we couldn’t leave her or her babies like that — they wouldn’t survive on their own.

Thanks to Rovers Return Dog Rescue, they were able to safely trap Freya and get her puppies. But we quickly realized Freya wasn’t just scared — she was feral. She didn’t trust anyone, wouldn’t let people clean near her or her babies, and became extremely protective.

The first placement fell through because no one had the experience to handle a dog like her.

We were lucky to find an emergency temporary option, which kept her safe for a little while. Now, her babies are healthy and ready for adoption — but Freya has nowhere to go.

As of July 11th, she’s out of time. Despite countless emails, social media posts, and outreach to rescues, no one has come forward to help. A dog like Freya — labeled “feral” — wouldn’t stand a chance in a shelter. She’d be put down without question.

But I see something in her. Behind the fear is a dog who wants to love — she just hasn’t been given the chance to feel safe.

That’s why we’ve made a difficult but life-saving decision:

Freya is going to a professional Board and Train program.

She’ll receive 6–8 weeks (or more if needed) of dedicated training to help her heal from her trauma, learn to trust humans, and prepare for a forever home.

This is her only shot at a future — one where she never has to feel fear, hunger, or abandonment again.

Please donate if you can.

Every dollar brings Freya closer to the life she deserves — one full of safety, stability, and love. If you’re unable to donate, please share her story.

Let’s show Freya that humans can be kind… and that she will never be abandoned again.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. ❤️
