It’s with truly the deepest sadness that I’m making this go fund me page for my sister and her fiancé - Kirsten and Liam.

Their daughter Freya was born on the 29th September. She was with us for 7 weeks and 3 days before she grew her angel wings.

The emotional toll has been enormous.

Our sweet beloved Freya Tess White is a daughter, a cousin, a niece, a granddaughter, a great granddaughter and more. The funshine care bear and gold butterfly will always remind us of her sweet nature.

If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever.’

Our sweet girl had smiled at mummy and daddy, and communicated with them with her eyes, she knew her parents and their voices.
She would dance with her hands and feet when she heard her mummy and daddy.
She had a fiery personality and gave the NICU nurses a great side eye (the nurses who have been wonderful in their care, just you know- aren’t the same as mummy and daddy).

In the weeks before her passing, she was diagnosed with a rare genetic condition called Kenny caffey syndrome, type 2. This condition would still enable her to have a relatively normal life, with short stature and some possible teeth and eye problems, as well as a weakened immune system. Our little cutie would have been short like her mumma, and maybe had braces and glasses! So cute.
All scans and the pregnancy were normal with no issues detected.
At her birth, she suffered meconium aspiration syndrome, and had been fighting it hard her whole life, at John hunter children’s hospital, where she was transferred at four days old after her birth at their local hospital.

This go fund me page has been created to help Liam and Kirsten cover the cost of their sweet baby girls funeral. To support them at this time of tremendous loss that no parent should ever have to suffer.
To cover their bills and day to day costs while they mourn their sweet girl.
While they have had the government paid maternity leave, this is almost over for Kirsten, and long over for Liam (the government should definitely give the non birthing partner more paid leave), and most of their savings for maternity leave have been spent for the most part in the last seven weeks.. buying specialist items for Freya, like a pram and car seat that would be more appropriate for her small size, fuel traveling back-and-forth for the hour and a half journey to John Hunter, and the costs that arise from simply living away from home.

I ask that you pitch in what you can, and be charitable this Christmas, understanding that this should have been the first Christmas where they had their baby girl at home with them.

While nothing can give them more time with Freya, at the very least, I hope we can gift them with financial stability, however temporary, that allows more time off work together to cope with this.

While they won’t have the capacity to contact donors individually, Kirsten and Liam thank you for your support at this awful time.

And finally, a note from me… I love you always my darling niece, my goddaughter. It has made our lives brighter to have known you, to have held you. Aunty Jessy x

Everyone I love will know exactly who you are.’
