The dental lab community has lost a great technician and friend today.  Mrs. Rebecca Elaine Frey passed today after a courageous battle with cancer. She was loved and admired by all who knew her because her strength and kindness shined through on even her toughest days.

Elaine, as she was known, enjoyed her work that contributed to so many happy smiles. Starting her dental lab career in Houston, she eventually moved to Louisiana to work at Paramount Dental.  After a few years, Elaine was hired at Crown Dental where she happily settled in for over two decades until they closed their doors. However, as one door closes another one opens and in November of 2013, Elaine became a member of the family at Gator Ceramics. Several fellow technicians who worked at Paramount and Crown were blessed again to work with this fabulous lady and technician.  She was by far one of the most dedicated dental technicians with an unmeasurable work ethic.    

Those who were close to Elaine knew that she and her husband, Darryl, have had to endure cancer for a long time and it has not been easy on all fronts. Beyond their separate battles with cancer, together they were thrusted into financial hardship due to enormous medical bills and loss of income. These burdens do not just go away when you lose someone. However, some burdens can be eased through the kindness of others in times of need. So, to show our love for Elaine let us ease some of the burden on Darryl through a memorial fund which will then be presented by a couple of Elaine’s friends/colleagues in a couple weeks.
