Help me send Fressia to Washington, D.C.!

Hello everyone! When my daughter Fressia asked me if she could go on her school's 4-day 8th grade trip to Washington, D.C., I said YES! right away.

At the time, I didn't know how much it would cost. But I was excited for her to travel with her classmates for the first time during April vacation.

After attending the parent meeting about the trip, I found that the opportunity is AMAZING, but it came at a hefty cost. I paid the initial fees to keep her on the list, but I'm asking my family, friends, and community to help me pay the rest. The entire cost of the trip is $1,200, which includes a hotel stay, round-trip transportation; travel expenses, and tour fees.

The children also need spending money, and parents need to provide travel gear, appropriate shoes to do lots of walking in, and snacks for the bus ride.

The tour itinerary includes: the White House; Ford's Theatre; the National Archives; World War II Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Korean War Memorial, the National Mall, Tidal Basin, and the Washington Monument.

The children will also take a U.S. Capitol guided tour; visit the Supreme Court; and will tour a host of museums including the National Museum of Natural History, National Portrait Gallery; National Museum of the American Indian; and the Smithsonian American Art Museum. .

On day 3, they will take a Mount Vernon excursion and will help with the Arlington National Cemetery wreath delivery.

Finally, on day 4 they will visit the National Zoo.

When the children come home, they will be writing an article about their trip, and I will share that with all who donate. You will be helping to make an impact on Fressia's life - something that is truly special to our family.
