Kerala, fondly called God's own country, a small little state nestled between Western Ghats and Arabian Sea, was devastated by the worst flood in 100 years. Close to a million people have had to abandon their homes and are being sheltered in around 5000 relief camps.Loss of
property is valued at around 2.8 billion $. With its natural beauty, it is
the favorite vacation destination for many. This tiny state is home to
35 million people.
It is our turn to give back and rebuild it. Every little bit counts! Please
do as much or as little as you can!
This will be used to fund a rebuilding project based on how much we
collect. We will kickstart it with $1000 from our team.
We are a team of three teenagers (Ananya Vinay, Harishankar Subramanian and Nandana Jayasankar) who love Kerala
everytime we visited and want to help out.
We are not related in anyway to beneficiaries. We plan to donate to this initiative who will help rebuild one of these houses destroyed in the floods. We will be donating this to the organization called "Thanal". Thanal is in the process of constructing 270 houses in all regions of Kerala out of which 110 houses are in Wayanad District, one of the most affected areas.
Around 60 houses are under construction in various area of Wayanad of which 16 houses are in Panamaram area. The
cost of one house is Rs. 4 Lakhs . Thanal will add the balance and complete the house .
