This is the story of my mother, Yolanda Ore. Dealing with diabetes and other health complications, life can be hard and a bit frustrating. Sometimes health can take a big turn without you even knowing until it’s too late. After it’s too late and going into septic shock, Yolanda choice was life or death. We choose life. With her choice, her leg was amputated to below the knee. She still is healing from it, currently dealing with post operation. Unfortunately, she will no longer have income since her job was a bit physical and with heath insurance being so high. We also don’t have that either. Once learning that she didn’t have insurance, the hospital treated her like she was a number instead of a person. The 3 weeks that she was there, No information on aftercare, no action plan, just a few lesson of physical therapy so she can gain strength in her knee. They even stopped asking about her amputation and just wanted her out. We now have new equipment thanks to the pervious donations before this edit. Now we are recovering trying to clear up bills, rent mainly, from loss of income and learning how to maneuver with a prothesis. All help is great help as it goes to her bills, medicine and whatever else needed to get life back into a form of “normal” or comfortable. Thank you for any donation.
