Frelich Family Flood Fund

Donation protected

On March 25th Diana and Duane Frelich experienced something they never could image would happen.

It was the first warm weekend since the "snowpocalypse" of February. The snow melt made its usual way down to the fields of Paradise Valley, the only problem was that the ground was still frozen. With no where for the water to soak up, it headed to the ditches to make its usual route to the Yellowstone River. There was such an surplus of water that the ditches couldn't hold the demand needed, and started flooding multiple fields. One of these fields was Diana and Duane's front yard.

Once the water went over the ditch it was only a matter of seconds before the basement window's blew out and had a steady stream flowing into the house. Despite the efforts of our parents they couldn't stop what had already been done.

After generations of Frelich's living on this property the first ever flood had taken over the territory. The house is located in the middle of Paradise Valley on the west end of the highway at Pine Creek. This is miles away from the Yellowstone River, so flood insurance was never a thought.

Since this event, many friends and family members have contacted us requesting a gofundme to help support my parents. We finally decided it was time to put this together. We are asking for funds to help pay for a new hot water heater, furnace, multiple appliances and an ongoing flood restoration project. So many people want a way to help out so here it is. We appreciate all the love and support we have received in the past weeks. Thank you all! :)

Below are some pictures of the damages:

View of ditch from where water was over flowing the driveway crossing.

Driveway to the house is now a lake. You can see where I parked my truck in the background.

Water level above the bottom of the window. Close to five feet of standing water in the basement.

Mom's craft room completely soaked. Decades worth of supplies and memories gone in a flash.

Water flow was strong enough to bring buckets of snow into the basement.

Water level high enough to move Dad's work bench. Everything was floating and moved around. Hot water heater and furnace 100% damaged and needed replaced.

Stand up fridge and freezer a complete loss.

Truck loads of soaked items hauled away.
