Who We Are: We are the Freeman Black Alumni Association (Richmond, VA) founded in 2020 to provide support and assistance geared toward the black student population at Freeman High School. We strive to provide both financial scholarship and mentorship opportunities for current students and alumni. We hope to build a bigger and more impactful sense of community for these students and help set them up for success in whatever endeavors await them after they leave Freeman.

Scholarship Purpose: The Freeman High School Black Alumni Scholarship was established to provide additional resources to the Black student population of D. S. Freeman High School. We strive to provide both financial support and mentorship opportunities for current students and alumni. We hope to build a bigger and more impactful sense of community for these students and help set them up for success in whatever endeavors await them after they leave Freeman.

Last year we had the honor of issuing three $1000 scholarships to some very deserving students! Please help us continue our mission of sewing into these deserving students. Thank you for your support!


How Funds Will Be Allocated: 95% of Funds raised will go directly to establishing an annual scholarship for at least 1 graduating senior and 5% will go towards maintaining our non-profit status (EIN:85-3393482 ) so that we can continue to raise money both from individuals and corporations. In addition to raising money for this annual scholarship, we plan to facilitate mentorship opportunities for current Black students from Freeman High School in the future.


How Funds Will Be Delivered: The scholarship award will be sent directly to the recipient via cashier's check)



How Funds Will Be Withdrawn: Funds will be managed by Phillip Jackson (℅ 2008) in the FBAA bank account.
