As you are aware, the positions of paralegals are fairly new. However, it did not become recognized easy or without the advocating of associations such as the National Federations of Paralegal Association, inc. and others. As the NFPA was established in 1974, today years later, independent paralegals sometimes referred to as legal document preparers, spring the entrepreneur business market.
An Independent Paralegal is termed by the NFPA as follows:
"Independent Paralegal: A paralegal who provides services to consumers with regard to a process in which the law is involved and for whose work no lawyer is accountable. Independent paralegals are relatively new to the profession and are challenging the boundaries for the delivery of legal services. Independent paralegals often provide assistance directly to the public and offer a wide variety of services, depending on their area of expertise. Services include document preparation (also referred to as scrivener services), representation when permitted by court rule or statutory authority, and providing information about the legal system and pro se procedures within various courts."
Freelance Legal Document Service Center has been a NYS Certified DBA Paralegal service since 2008. We are a legal document preparer service and paralegal center dedicated to providing fast, affordable, high-quality documents and services on an as need basis to attorneys, small businesses, pro se clients, and the public. Freelance Legal Document Service Center provides a wide range of legal documents and services such as, but not limited to chp. 7 bankruptcy, uncontested divorce, contracts, incorporations, evictions, wills, power of attorney, living trust, name change, lease agreements and others. For Attorney's and the law office, we conduct legal research, litigation and discovery proceedings; provide process servers, file documents with court, notary public, prepare all petitions, prepare briefs / memorandums and provide attorney referral services and more.
At the present, we are in need of additional licenses, insurance, staff training and computer software for upgrade and expansion. So, we gather to ask your support for the paralegal profession. With your help and support we can continue providing legal documents and services online, from our office and in some cases throughout your offices and within the community. We greatly appreciate your donations of any amount, $5 and $10, $50 or $100. We also want to thank you in advance for taking interest in our cause and need.
