Why:
In light of recent restrictions to the press' access of the presidency by the White House, the arrests of journalists doing their jobs and the inflamed media climate , a consortium of journalists have united to organize an press conference to stand for freedom of the press and a citizen march for freedom of the press.
Where:
The event will take place in DC. We are asking for citizens to help us with the basic event costs. As soon as permits are granted, we will announce the details! But we need your help!
*The #FreeThePress event is honor of the legendary investigative reporter whose most famous subject was Donald Trump, we honor and dedicate this event to Wayne Barrett.* Wayne mentored so many reporters passed away on the eve of the Inauguration.
What do you stand for?
We will be releasing a statement on behalf of the diverse members of the media. We will address several different crises in the media, but also the constitutional issues that arise when you limit press access.
What you are helping us pay for:

A Tent (for weather purposes)
AV Equipment
Any other rentals
What if we have extra money?
We will be donating any extra funds to the Committee to Protect Journalists.
