"Freedom Trident" Art Project at Burning Man

Camp Amber Dust (est. 2015) is building a Ukrainian-themed art piece at Burning Man to show our support in the fight for their and our all freedom.

We chose the coat of arms of Ukraine, which is believed to have originated as a tribal symbol, a synthesis of the divine elements of fire and water in the manifested world. Three points, three worlds, and trinities are ever-present in human mythology and culture. Today, a trident is a symbol of unity and freedom. A symbol of perseverance and determination, a symbol of a fight for freedom and democracy. The wisdom embedded in trident is universal.

Our structure will tower 16ft off the ground. We'll use a CNC machine to cut the shapes out of high-quality plywood sheets (work in progress) that we'll assemble in the honey-comb manner at Burning Man.

We are trying to raise $8,100 which should cover most of the materials, labor, and transportation we have to pay for. At the end of the event, we intend to disassemble the Freedom Trident, bring it back, and donate it to the Ukrainian diaspora of Southern California.
