Laura Stevens is a bright, spirited 10-year-old, 4th grader who doesn't let much slow her down. However, Laura was born with Myotonic Dystrophy, which makes the simple childhood joy of riding a traditional bicycle nearly impossible for her.

If you know Laura, you know she just wants to be out there with the rest of her family, feeling the wind in her face and the freedom of two (or three!) wheels.

The Solution: A "Forever" Bike:

The bike Laura needs is a specialized piece of equipment designed for her specific needs. It costs $4,000, which is a lot for any family.

However, this isn't just a bike for right now. This specific model is highly adjustable and grows with her. It is designed to be the only bike Laura will ever need, providing her with a lifetime of mobility and inclusion.

The Challenge: For a while now, her family has been incredibly grateful to rent a specialized adaptive bike from Common Ground. It has been a lifesaver, but it comes with limitations:

No Guarantee: Because it’s a rental, you never know if it will be available when Laura wants to ride.

Recent Setbacks: Her family recently had to return the bike for scheduled events, leaving Laura without her favorite way to stay active.
