Freedom for Tim

Hi, I’m Becky Lanthier. Many of you know of my nephew, Tim Sondgeroth, and his ongoing struggles to lead a normal life following a near fatal car accident in 1993 that resulted in a traumatic brain injury. Tim’s TBI caused seizures that, after many years, could no longer be controlled with medication. In his desire to lead a more normal life, Tim elected to have robotic brain surgery in an attempt to pinpoint the origin of his seizures, eradicate the pathways and either stop or lessen the seizure activity. In April, 2019 the surgery was performed, but very serious complications resulted in Tim being partially paralyzed, bedridden, on a ventilator and relying on tube feedings.
After 15 months in the hospital, Tim came home and resides with his parents, Joyce & Jim, who along with his wife Erin, provide Tim with around the clock care. Frequently, Tim has to go to the hospital for various procedures and because of his condition, he needs special transportation. The problem arises when an ambulance isn’t available or isn’t covered by insurance for outpatient transports, which is a great expense. If Tim had a specially equipped van, there would be no delays in getting the treatment needed. In addition, he would be able to get out of the house, which he really enjoys, and bring another element of normalcy to his life. Right now, Tim is only able to get out in his wheelchair when someone takes him for a walk in warmer weather.
So many people have been such a tremendous support for Tim and his family up till now. I’d like to ask, if it’s possible, that your generosity continues in helping to secure a van that is fitted for Tim’s special needs. We are also eternally grateful for your prayers and kind words of encouragement.
