Svetlana Sinotova was born in St. Petersburg, Russia, and has traveled the world, becoming multilingual and deeply connected to many cultures. In 2018, she was arrested and brutally tortured by Russian police for her opposition to Putin. Fearing for her life, she fled Russia in the middle of the night with only one suitcase, seeking safety in the United States. Since arriving, Svetlana has dedicated herself to volunteering and supporting victims of the Russo-Ukrainian War, while continuing to protest against the conflict and advocate for peace.

Recently, Svetlana was unlawfully detained by ICE. This has left her in urgent need of legal representation to secure her release and ensure her rights are protected. On top of this, Svetlana faces serious medical challenges. She recently underwent breast surgery and requires ongoing care, including antibiotics and regular doctor visits to prevent life-threatening complications like sepsis. Without immediate support, her health and well-being are at risk.
