Demond Weston was incarcerated for 29 and half years for crimes he did not commit. After a lengthy legal fight he had his convictions vacated by a Cook County Judge and was released from prison. On December 19, 2019, Demond Weston walked out of Dixon Correctional Center as a free man, only holding a clear plastic bag that contained his legal papers and a few family photos. His close friends and family were able to provide him with temporary shelter and the essentials that one needs in life. However with this second chance at life, he needs funds to be able to get on his feet while trying to find work and purchase a car.
