We are Erin & Mike Jones. We are starting this GoFundMe account to help our son buy his first vehicle. Our son, Braden Jones, is disabled and wheelchair-bound due to a form of rickets that he was diagnosed with as a baby. He doesn't let his differences dictate his abilities. He has always worked so hard to reach his goals. He has faced much adversity in his 21 years. He works full-time and is currently driving his power wheelchair to work. He has always dreamed of having his own vehicle to drive to and from. It's always been out of reach. You see, a vehicle that is modified to accommodate Braden and the necessities he must have to drive is very expensive. It requires a lift or ramp to enter, as well as hand controls and locking mechanisms for his wheelchair, as he will drive from his wheelchair. The prices for these custom vehicles brand new range from $80,000 to $100,000 and up. We have been blessed to find a used wheelchair-accessible truck locally and it is much less, but the price is still extremely high, with a ticket price of $56,900. We have paid earnest money down to hold the vehicle to the dealership, Sylacauga Handicapped in Sylacauga, AL.
