Free coffee for COVID-19 first responders

HELP GROWERS ALLIANCE give away FREE Coffee to Thank First Responders & Healthcare Workers for All They Do

ST. AUGUSTINE, FL – During this country’s battle with the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been demonstrated time and time again that even though we must stay apart for the greater good, we must still take care of each other to get through this together.

Growers Alliance Cafe, a small business and independently owned coffee shop in St. Augustine, FL wants nothing more than to bring the community together even if it is nothing more than spreading a little joy, warmth and cheer or the much-needed boost through coffee. Many have been feeling helpless because they want to help, but have no idea where to start.

Here is something you can chip in ...

With your help, and in the spirit of gratitude to all that our First Responders and Healthcare Workers do for our communities, Growers Alliance Café & Gift Shop, located at 322 Anastasia Blvd. in St. Augustine, FL plans to give away FREE coffee to them. Please help by making a donation to the campaign right here on this page.

Growers Alliance's goal is to give free coffee by the cup to local first responders as well as mail bagged coffees in the months of May and June to any interested first responders who live elsewhere in the US.

First responders that live in and around St. Augustine can come through the Growers Alliance drive-thru location and receive our famous Kenyan coffee, hot or iced, for FREE until end of June while wearing their uniforms and showing their work badges. First Responders would include anyone who identifies as Police, Fire, or Paramedic. Healthcare Workers would include frontline workers supporting the healthcare system at the different hospitals and clinics.

“We realize that sometimes all the work that the first responders do goes unnoticed, especially during unprecedented times such as now. As we all struggle to understand the magnitude of what the world is going through, First Responders and Healthcare Workers have moved to the front lines and tirelessly risked their lives to save ours. With your help, we only want to do what we can to thank them for their selflessness,” said Martin Kabaki, co-owner, Growers Alliance.

Giving back has always been a core part of the Growers Alliance mission as they continue to fund their nonprofit Kijiji dialysis clinic in Naivasha, Kenya as well as the digging of clean water wells in Embu, Kenya.

"Coffee has always been our weapon in fighting many battles but this COVID-19 one is a whole different monster. With your help, giving away free coffee is the least we can do to show how much we appreciate what First Responders and Healthcare Workers do for our communities. We are all worried and concerned for our neighbors and community here in St. Augustine, in this country, and around the world. Now more than ever, even in lockdown, we are all in this together,” added Purity Gikunju, co-owner, Growers Alliance.

About Growers Alliance:

Growers Alliance was founded by Martin Kabaki and Purity Gikunju who are originally from Kenya. Their vision and mission is to empower poor coffee growers by eliminating the several unnecessary middlemen and cartels who take the biggest cut in the coffee industry. Growers Alliance serves only premium quality and mountain-grown Kenyan coffee. For every single bag of coffee sold, part of the proceeds goes back to help the poor coffee growers in Kenya who are more than just a supply chain. Growers Alliance helps to improve access to better basic healthcare services and clean drinking water among the poor and underserved communities in rural Kenya.
