Free (wise) Willy

Hi everyone! This year has sucked! Don’t we all know! My family and I have experienced a lot of loss like so many of you. On top of loss and financial struggle we also had to figure out what to keep and what not to keep as far as what we were gifted from a few of our loved ones who passed this past year and a half. This truck was the last gift my grandma gave me. The name is “Wise Willy”. A 2002 Chevy Silverado that my grandpa gifted my grandma and then they both gifted me. It has been my source of any income through out all of this pandemic and has provided many awesome adventures for myself and the kids I’ve taken care of throughout the pandemic. I feel petty asking for help, but I am desperate at this point. Any work or unemployment I’ve received has been used to float my bills and figure out each hurdle as the last year and a half have transpired, and the time seemed determined to just shut me down altogether. I know there are others who may need help more than me, but I really need help at this point in time. This is my means of income, it is my baby, it is what I have left of my grandparents who passed this year. I decided to have the transmission rebuilt instead of buy a “new to me car” because I know it’s worth keeping, but I need cash to get it off the shop lot, as my mom needs her own vehicle back and is dealing with her own set of financial struggles. The timing couldn’t have been worse for the need to rebuild the transmission.

So basically I’m asking help with adulting and getting my truck back, as silly as that sounds. It’s not just a truck and will have so much life left to it when I can get it back. I’m just asking for a break. They don’t come often or ever and I could really use one right now, financially and emotionally. I’ve explored many avenues as options but I think when it all boils down to it, I can only ask for help from the people who know me and know that I wouldn’t be asking if I didn’t really need the help.
