Since 2016, starting with my original Time for Some Game Theory Thread , I dropped my career as an intelligence analyst to write for the public full-time.

It has come at significant cost. There wasn’t much of a business model, and that wasn’t my objective. But it’s come at another cost as well - one that threatens my rights as a parent - and I need your help.

I’ve written mostly about geopolitics, but in late 2017, I became increasingly aware of corruption right here close to where I live - in St. Louis, Missouri. I had to cover some of those issues alongside national security since in many cases, there seemed to be connections.

About 18 months ago, just as Federal prosecutions began unsealing criminal indictments on my own local government - and I covered those in detail - my rights as a parent were taken away without a single hearing, witness, or piece of evidence.

This is the same court system that covers Ferguson, incidentally - a situation I’ve covered in detail, as well.

One of the major issues in this legal battle is evidently my political writing online, of all things. It never had anything to do with my fatherhood - but apparently some have other ideas.

After 18 straight months of legal battles, I was just told I couldn’t have a trial - even when I was at that moment sitting there with witnesses ready to go for the trial scheduled by the courts. The Constitution guarantees the right to be heard in a court of law, but I was told to simply accept what was already decided.

This is where I need to ask your help. The two most important things to me in the world are my kids and my country. This legal battle has been incredibly expensive, and I have to keep fighting.
