Free Phil 2 Years in Jail Without Trial or Sunlight

My name is Anita and I’m asking for your help to bring my son Phillip home.

In May 2023, my son Phillip was arrested for a crime he did not commit.

He was targeted because of his Jeep and the color of his skin.

Since that day, he has been sitting in jail for over two years without a trial. He is innocent. He has not been convicted of any crime, yet he is still being held on a $700,000 cash bond.

His trial is still more than a year away.

Before all of this, I had no idea how the system really worked. I did not know this is how they break people down. They isolate them. They delay the process. They strip away hope and dignity. They try to wait you out until you give up and take a deal just to go home.

That is what they are trying to do to my son.

We will not let him break.

In Arizona, the full amount must be paid. This is not a 10% bond situation. We need to raise the entire $700,000 to bring him home.

Phillip has had no access to direct sunlight for two years now. He missed the passing of his Nana who helped raise him. He never got the chance to say goodbye. I watched that pain break him. It broke me too.

Phillip is a rugby player, a teammate, a loyal friend, and someone who has shown up for hundreds of people in our community. If you know him, you know how much he loves and protects the people around him.

He has strong ties to the community both here in Arizona and in California. He coached the Special Olympics men's team to a championship. He has volunteered in food kitchens. He has mentored young people and helped friends through some of the hardest moments in their lives. The good he brings into this world is real and lasting.

Phillip does not deserve to be locked away and forgotten. He deserves to be home, where he can continue building a life and giving back to the people who love him.

Now he needs us.
